RIP Maxi Jazz

I adored this man, he is the modern poet of all in my estimation, there is no one that comes close.

Rest well, Maxi, may you finally sleep

I mentioned it a number of times, but I really do think "Bring My Family Back" is a modern day epitome of lyrical wonder.

Just additionally, obviously we reference Faithless with Maxi.

I was lucky enough to see them live at the Plymouth Pavilions in 2001, an awful venue for acoustics, but that night, to a sold out crowd, they quite literally raised the roof. You could tell at the end when the noise of applause and appreciation from the crowd was SO loud it just became a monotone chorus of reverberation, you could absolutely tell that Maxi and Sister Bliss and Rollo and everyone were so surprised that everyone loved it that much, they were genuinely taken aback at the reaction. It was the best live gig I've ever had the pleasure of being a part of, absolutely incredible.

But after Faithless split in 2011, Maxi went on to frontline in his own band Maxi Jazz & The E-Type Boys, which was much more Reggae influences.
