Hi,

From the above report I can determine that it is not the same fault reoccurring. 0x24 normally relates to a HDD failure or corrupt system partition and it is normally followed by NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM. I would give our support team a call on 0844 499 4000 and they can talk you through testing the HDD to determine if it is at fault with the HDD or if a reinstall is needed to fix the issue.

The "BCCCode: 24" , or 0x00000024, tells us that as a problem condition exists with your file system, the file format used by Windows.
Basically, a system-resource-intense program is running at the same time that the installation is going on - and is able to knock the Windows install out. Without seeing your system specifications and installed program list, my guess is an anti-virus program.

Thanks for the replies guys, think I will be calling the help line again.

I thought I had removed all the AV software I had... Initially I ran the bullguard free trial, when that expired I uninstalled & then ran the AVG free version before the RMA, a re-install / re-format would've got shot of AVG (I think???), then when it was returned from RMA it had a Norton 2010 trial on it for 90 days, I uninstalled that ready for the new 2011 version just before i got the BCC Code 24.

I will be check through my installed programs list when I get home tonight to see if I can spot anything else. Thanks Again.

ok last night, booted up to have a look at my installed programs and any AV software running, got a BSOD with the following message after:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3
Locale ID: 2057
Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: d1
BCP1: 0000000000000000
BCP2: 0000000000000002
BCP3: 0000000000000001
BCP4: FFFFF8800102EB13
OS Version: 6_1_7600
Service Pack: 0_0
Product: 768_1
Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\052611-20560-01.dmp
C:\Users\Will\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-31559-0.sysdata.xml

from reading up this looks like a driver issue possibly???

moments later I got another one with a BCCCode of 50, anyone got any ideas what this relates to???

I haven't had chance to call tech support (still in work) but thinking of doing a fresh install again.
