router set up

Hi Gents

Ive just set up a new modem/router on my PC. I accessed the settings via my firefox using its IP address.

The internet works fine but each time I try to load my homepage (google) I get redirected to my router.

If I tyoe google.co.uk into the address it redirects to:

Ive read about a virus called google redirect but from what Ive read that directs u to other sites. This looks more like a problem with the router. I also read it could to be to do with the DNS settings but mine are on automatic.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for helpiong guys.

When I type that into command a black screen pops up and then disapears in a split second.

Anything I can do to slow it?

I managed to just about get a screen shot of it;

So presumably a router setup issue. Sounds like either some security feature, or a redirect/port forwarding issue.
What model is the router?

Its a Billion BiPAC 8700N.

The problem only started after I set up this new router. When I connected it and clicked on firefox I expected to have to type in the routers IP address to configure it. But instead the routers page opened right away so maybe its a feature to help set it up. But I cant turn that feature off! Ive got facebook as my homepage now and that works fine, its just google which was my homepage on install.

The Billion kit uses some easy setup software to walk you through the config. Its supposed to only appear when you first connect though, and should restart the router after you've entered your connection details, and then stop directing you to the setup screens

Igoogle works fine but google.com comes up with 'EZSO error'. Its like its trying to access google on the actual router.

EZSO is the Easy Sign On software that is supposed to only run when you first configure the router, sounds like something is wrong with the router setup. If there isn't an option to deactivate EZSO, then it may be worth running through the config steps again.

faikling what prisoner just said, do a hard reset on router and then start again, may have just been a glitch for some reason.

Clearing the cache has solved this problem for other people.
In firefox If you want to clear the complete cache
In the Option window, click the Advanced tab. Navigate to Offline Storage section under Network tab. Clicking on the Clear Now button would completely clear the Firefox cache.

I also believe a sledgehammer to the case works just as well :), although it may affect the way windows runs lol.
