Well well well, it’s finally been announced! Due to launch on the 3rd June with a retail price of £1,049, but how does it compare to the 3080 and 3090? Well it’s as close as you can get to the 3090, just with less VRAM, would you say the price is right for this card?
A jump from £649 MSRP to £1,049 MSRP is a big jump in price for most, so who’s going to be getting one?

300 dollars MSRP difference is stupid.
A: The price wont be that, it will be higher because of current market.
B: The OEM prices will be even higher to a point where OEM 3080TI will be equal to FE3090. It is just stupid

ps. considering the price difference is maybe 300-400 euro, if that here in denmark. Might as well stay with the 3090 i ordered and just enjoy the experience, instead of being bothered by saving a bit of money (especially since money is not problem atm)

Just two GPU clusters more than 3070, 2 RT cores more than 3070 for 100 Dollars more?
Why the hell would you buy that gpu for just a tiny boost? Might as well go for 3080 at that point.

3070TI has 4% more cuda cores compared to 3070 for 20% price increase. Oh it has GDDR6X memory instead of GDDR6, which provides bit better bandwidth but that is not worth the money at all.

Of course all of this will still sale like hot cakes, because of the current market situation.

This two cards released by NVIDIA are just blatant cash grab...

at least the 3080TI gives you nice boost in performance, sure 10% increase compared to 3080 for 40% more money is not very good deal. But it is boost non the less. 3090 was never meant to be gaming card in a first place. And 3090 still has its place with the double memory compared to 3080TI

But that 3070TI? that is just insult. if that card gonna have more than 2-5% difference compared to 3070 that would be already pushing it. And you got to pay 20% more for it? Cash grab..

It’s simply a cash grab, nothing more. Zero resale value because of hash rate limiter, which will devalue the card immediate after purchase, so a lot of people just won’t buy them based on that. But as @loso64 says, prices will be extortionate, nowhere near MSRP.

that is a good point. The 3080TI could still have some use, miners wont be interested in it (which hopefully will mean more readily available in stock), and serious high end gamers will consider it because it has same performance almost as 3090 but at least 300-400 euro cheaper and with a bit more VRAM for 4k gaming.

3070TI on other hand? No resale value, no mining value, barely any difference compared to cheaper 3070 or bit more expensive but lot more powerful 3080. That card makes no sense at all.
3070TI should have been at least 58 gpu clusters and 58 RT cores, leaving it exactly in middle of 3070 and 3080.
