Woah!!

Completely agree, if that was OLED I don't think anything could touch it. I would like to see the performance on it though. Being sensible with the settings and all the DLSS trickery etc, I don't think it would be a bad experience at all, but 240hz? Who are they kidding?

I just don't get the point in the 240hz on this style of panel (well any, but this seems like a waste of important resource to me). I get they need those numbers on the box to sell things, but I really wish they didn't have to. 144hz & OLED on that would be significantly more beneficial.

I have wondered why they put 240hz on all the G9 panels, it does seem extremely unnecessary for the aspect ratio, it's not as if any competitive player would ever go for a superwide.

I wonder if it some odd requirement for these panels or something, just seems odd that they'd put in quite an umeccesary and expensive feature.

If they were 144Hz it wouldn't be a detriment in any way at all.

I expect (as is potentially obvious) the costs associated with pushing the refresh rate in terms of production are outweighed by the increased sales they'll see due to the 'numbers being bigger'..

I know I for one, like my numbers to be bigger!

Not surprising from Nvidia tbh. I didn't even realise they didn't opt for the latest standard, but it doesn't surprise me.

It's a bit of a kick for no reason though. A bit like saying my car doesn't have the necessary hardware for deep sea exploration, even if it did...... it wouldn't be doing it.
