Seagate Barracuda. Should I worry?

I just read about an issue with this HDD. However, yesterday I bought here a system with that HDD included. Should I worry about its' reliability or they managed to resolve the problem and it doesn't occur in their recent products?

If it's one of the 500GB drives, I wouldn't worry, the issues that were with them was years ago and has not reappeared, if it's not that drive, let us know which one it is and we'll have a look for you. We don't tend to sell anything we know has issues, as its easier to remove it from sale than create potential issues.

I have the 500GB barracuda, works a treat -suddenly explodes

If you had one of the bad drives, you'd know it was bad firmware on some of the old ones, I think it will be a good 3-4 years ago now, the affected drives were all affected within the warranty, so if you have got one, you'll be fine

I got mine, erm.. Last September i think
