Setting up GPU2 as primary display

OK, so, I switched my 9800 GT and GTX 470 around, so now the 9800 GT is in slot 1 (top slot) and 470 is below it. This has dramatically reduced temps, as now the HAF 932 front intake is blowing directly onto it. However, im now having to use 9800 GT as primary display. I bet this is a really easy fix but how do I get Windows to detect GTX 470 as primary (when I plugged DVI into the 470 I got no display screen on first boot so I guessed it must be because its in slot 2). Surely theres a way to fix this? :p

After much googling im still no closer to finding an answer. Some motherboards seem to allow you to chose between which PCIe slot to use as primary display in BIOS. Not finding any suck options on the Rampage 3...

Also, Meds, Jack, Gorm, PCS, does anyone know if it makes much difference that there are no heatsinks on the vRAM modules on the 9800 GT Green Edition?

Not something I've come across before to be honest. I don't think you'll be able to set your GTX470 as the primary display here, if you can I'm guessting it will be a setting somewhere in the Nvidia Control Panel, but I might be wrong.

The memory modules only have heatsinks if they get hot enough to warrant them, or if the card is custom designed by the GPU manufacturer, as opposed to an Nvidia reference design, for better cooling.

It doesn't make a great deal of difference to be honest.

K, well ive moved the 470 back up top. Problem is the HAF 932 front fan doesnt blow air onto the top card (blows underneath) Does anyone have any idea how I can force a bit more air through the side of the 470 (bearing in mind the underside is covered by the back of the 9800 so air intake will have to be primarily from the backside of the card.

Thanks for the info about the vRAMs

Why not put the 9800GT in the bottom or thrid x16 slot, therefore increasing the gap between them and allowing for better heat dissipation?

third not possible - PCI wlan card there & bottom - only single slot vga card can fit. Also, ill be using both these slots for the other 2 9800 GT's I bought :)

Yeah :p 9800GT's fold at 460 points per WU. Bought them for about £30 each. Eventually ill be moving them out to a folding rig.
