Hi guys, got home from work to discover my new PC had arrived! Joy.. but now I'm having problems getting it running.
It was bought without an OS and so I'm trying to install Win 7 now. I turned the machine on so I could put the disk in.. by the time the door was closed it was already trying to set up Windows... Strange I thought as its supposed to have no OS installed. I didn't want to turn it off at power button while this was running, they advise against it in the welcome book! Setup apparently finished, but I knew 1 min was far too short.. it was then asking me to enter the product key. I entered mine anyway but it says it doesn't match. So I'm now thinking they left the OS installed by mistake after testing or whatever?
Anyway I rebooted and this time had time to tap F8 to get into the boot menu, chose boot from cd and away it went. It went through the 'Windows is loading files' screen and then I got the option to choose language, time and currency. Now this is where I'm stuck.. the keyboard or mouse do not work at this screen, the lights are off and no-one is home, so I can't select an option!
I've tried unplugging and different ports etc but to no avail. Thing is the mouse and keyboard worked when I tried to enter a license key earlier, as mentioned at start of the post. Can anyone help? This is probably very noobish but I'm genuinely out of ideas and customer support lines are closed.
Thanks
