Should i buy a pc on black friday or cyber monday?

I'm ready to buy a new PC. But with the new processors coming out shortly and black friday or cyber monday soon upon us will the prices be dropping a lot on older versions? Im desperate to buy a PC as my console has packed up so maybe no gaming for a month if i wait. But i would be gutted to find its a lot cheaper in a couple weeks. On the other hand waiting a couple weeks and then the build time only to find i haven't saved anything or maybe just £20 i would rather just order today.

Mostly for Gaming, i do some web design etc on my laptop and have some others plans in the future that the laptop won't be able to handle very comfortably. The PC i configured is still £1380 on PCS and i guess that would be classed as mid range. But what i was trying to get at do these events over the last few years like black friday and new components being released push the prices down on the older ones or do the new ones just come in at a higher price. As if i would see anything more than a £100 saving i would possibly wait.

PCS don't do any sales any time of year as their prices are always as low as possible.

Sometimes they offer a code on black friday that will get you £10 or £20 pounds off, but that's all.

Thanks that's what i was looking for, no point me waiting another month to save £20. I would have felt a little sick if the prices dropped massively in a few weeks time.
Yeah, they continually adjust prices to what they're able to based on market valuations, so at least weekly, but even possible more than that, you'll see prices fluctuate on individual components and that will reflect in the configurator.

That's why if you're looking at a particular spec and you're not ready to order for a couple of days, it's still worth pulling off a quote from the configurator as that will freeze that price so you can revert to it if the prices have risen since that time. I believe quotes are valid for 5 days.

I'm not sure if this is allowed, it maybe questionable, but I once say in a magazine last month while looking through the mag at Sainsbrys PCS had a £15 off code, I didnt buy the mag as I wasn't interested in the content for that month, but I just saw the code there, maybe you could ffind one?

I don't know (because I have no inside information) but I'd suspect such codes would be severely time limited. It's worth a try if you find one though - but be sure to read the small print!

Is there any expectation that the RTX 20 series will have a price reduction any time soon? Like OP I'm looking to buy a new laptop but unsure if I should wait a couple of weeks or just order now.

RTX2000 series on laptops are still the current gen, there's no reason they'll get a price drop any time soon.

It's possible the 3000 mobile cards may be released around Feb / March.

Ah, thanks. 3000 might be a bit above my budget and I wouldn't want to have to wait until Feb/March to play newer games like Cyberpunk and AC Valhalla, so I guess I'll get a new laptop now. Thanks.
