Skylake Bug

There has been a lot of noise on the internet about the Skylake processors containing a bug causing systems to freeze. Whilst it is all well above my head it worries me since I have PC Specialist desktop with I7-6700k (using stock clock) paired with ASUS Z170 Pro Gaming ATX LG1151 motherboard. Should I be worried? Since getting machine over 2 months ago I haven't had any system freezes. I mainly play games but I'd hate to think my machine is a ticking time bomb to a freeze. I don't really look forward to messing around with a BIOS update. It does sound like the conditions to generate the freeze are so specific that it is unlikely to be discovered by the majority of users but it's a concern nonetheless

You should not be worried :) As you can see in the news post, the bug only occurs under very specific conditions. Nevertheless, keep an eye out for BIOS updates, as it's likely an update is going to get released within the next month. BIOS updates for most consumer motherboards has been very much simplified over the years, and can be done with a few clicks from the OS + A reboot.
