Slight screen problem (Optimus VII)

Hey guys, so i received my Optimus VII this morning.
Everything with the laptop is perfect, everything is working well the laptop itself is very nice but one slight problem, my screen on the laptop seems a bit dull or smokey
im not sure how to explain it, its like if the brightness was down a bit but when i look at the settings the brightness is up to the fullest.

This is only a minor problem as i pay with the laptop connected to other monitors but would appreciate if anyone could tell me if its meant to be like this or is there something i can do to change it.

Thank you.

I haven't seen this as a problem with any Optimus VIIs in here. The most common issue is light bleed.

I'm trying to work out what model PCS use for their display - but short of taking the monitor apart to reveal the model number I'm not sure it's possible.

If it's the first time you're getting a Matte screen that could be the reason why you think it looks like that :)

I found out on my review, you can see the hardware ID in Device Manager for the Generic Monitor :)

It's the same panel they install in the ASUS ROG 17" laptops, so a very good panel by all accounts. Light bleed (I do have some) is typically caused by stress on the edges being uneven, rather than the panel itself.
