Hi all
Yesterday morning my laptop started smoking from the charge port. Obviously I quickly pulled out the charger and turned off the computer. The end of the charger has melted and unusable.
I opened up the back and on the other end of the port a very small amount of plastic had melted onto the motherboard. The laptop had stopped charging before I noticed the smoke. I wasn't doing anything intensive when using the laptop i.e. Playing a game.
My question is..
Despite it being a month out of parts warranty, do you think I have a claim on regards to being sold faulty goods? I have only ever used the charger supplied with the laptop and there was nothing unusual about the way it was plugged in.
Also, if not, how much do you think the repair may work out as if Sent back to pc specialist?
Thank you
Dan
