Some advice?

Looking for some advice on any suggested/recommended changes to this spec;

Will be using it for gaming and photo editing, I want something that will comfortably run VR games with an HTC Vive and also wont struggle with sim games such as Cities Skylines and Planet Coaster etc (my current machine struggles with Cities when they get over a certain size and can't handle PC)

The intention is to use my 4K UHD TV via HDMI as a monitor and will be based in the lounge, so noise is not necessarily an issue, but still quieter the better.

Absolute max budget is £1600, but aiming for £1500

A GTX 1070 is going to struggle very badly with games at 4k. A GTX 1080 will get you a good way further, and would also be an asset for VR.

You don't need an AIO water cooler for a stock CPU. There's no real point to the VS 650 over the VS 550. You can get a cheaper motherboard if you don't mind losing USB 3.1 and the onboard wifi. That would let you squeeze in a GTX 1080 and an SSD which will increasing loading speeds of Windows and games, and is an asset for Photoshop. You wouldn't get much benefit off an SSHD as a secondary drive, so can stick with a regular HDD.

Sorry... forgot to mention, computer runs at 1920x1080 and the TV uprates it to 4K...

I imagine you'll get much higher fidelity running the games at 4k rather than having the TV invent pixels for you. That said I don't have a 4k TV to test that out with.

But if you're happy with that you could drop to a GTX 1060 and get an SSD and a better mobo like the Z270E you had before. Though for VR you'd quite likely still want a 1080.
