some lights work when pc off

I got my rig from pc specialists at the end of July , the tower is a coolmaster haf x , when the pc is off the light strip at the rear right corner used to stay on but now they pulse on and off , i got a new keyboard and the lights emit a low glow when pc is off , i plugged in some new headphones and they stay lit when pc is off.............. whats going on ..... do i have a seroius problem or is it something i can ignore. Turn the pc off at the mains and the light still working.

Do note though that quite a few motherboards will still power some of the USB ports when shut down, and some do have lights that stay on or pulse - my motherboard has pulsing lights when its shut down but still plugged in.
My USB attached keyboard still stays backlit when my machine is shut down.

As for things still staying on when its unplugged at the mains, I presume this is temporary after its shut down (this can happen as there may be some remaining power in the machine for a short period of time)?

If you want to stop the lights pulsing or being on there will probably be an option to change it (on mine the LED options are in the BIOS), it should tell you how in the motherboard manual.

mystery solved

I dont intend to mess with the bios i just though i had a problem so for the benefit of anyone who reads this please note the following

Whilst waiting for a reply from this company i emailed coolmaster who made the tower , a couple of forums and the mobo maker.

To sum up then the latest generation of mobos take a small ammount of electricity from your mains socket even when the pc is turned off , this in turn feeds to the usb sockets and makes it possible to charge things via your pc when it is not turned on.

I have found i can charge my phone and fitbit health moniitor watch with pc turned off.

Due to the fact that current is being fed to the usb's when the pc is off also explains why the led's on my keyboard and headset are permanantly lit up.

Just to round up the information:
If you want to power everything off, use the power supply on/off switch at the back of your PC.
This will cut off all power to your PC, and everything will be completely shut down.
