Sound Blaster Cinema - Win 7

Anyone managed to get this working? I've installed Sound blaster software and have the icon on my system tray, but after installing the relevant audio driver and trying to open the sound blaster software, all i see is this error message :-

"The current selected audio device is disabled, not present, not supported by the application, or has unplugged jack connections. Do you want to select another device now?"

Anyone have a solution that works? Running Windows 7 x64 Professional

Thanks

As per someone on another thread, I got this working in 64 bit Win 7 by doing:

1. Un-install audio driver
2. Install SB Cinema
3. Didn't restart at this point
4. Installed the VIA drivers from the VIA website
5. Restarted
6. Working

Worked for me like this anyway!

Hi,

Still unable to get this to work. Followed suggestions above, and still says the same message as above

Anyone from PCS have any ideas? Would be nice to be able to use the feature

I am also having the same problem on my shiny beautiful new Optimus V (with fresh install of Win7 x64 Pro) and managed to get all of the drivers working thanks to this great post. But this SBC problem persists. Any ideas oh wise technical owls?

Windows itself is capable of managing the audio device as "High Definition Audio Device", but for completions sake I've also installed the 'correct' driver as per the thread linked.

However regardless of driver used, the Sound Blaster Cinema software provided on both the CD and via the Clevo website doesn't find any audio device and gives the same error message as per the OP. The method posted by Axeboy also didn't work me, either.

I was able to temporarily get a combo of SBC and the audio chip working using some unsigned Win8 drivers from the Clevo site, but I had glitchy system sound performance and upon restart the Via Audio device reverted back to uninstalled. Not worth it really.. So I'll wait for an 'official' solution.

It's a shame as the SBC really does help the 'tinny' problem of the Onkyo speakers when I could briefly test it.

I also own an Optimus V and cannot for the life of me get SBC to work. Same as Mobius's post yet I'm on win 8 x64.

If anyone could help that would be much appreciated.

Here is a solution that worked for me. After a fresh install, I tried to install the sound blaster cinema drivers, and low and behold, the same issue you guys had. After screwing around with the drivers, download the appropriate chipset drivers for your processor. Once I had installed those, the SBC installed and runs like a charm. It also fixed some other issues with drivers not working properly.

Uninstalling and reinstalling the audio drivers got the Soundblaster software to accept my audio device. Improvement to sound, from terrible to very bad: but I guess that is to be expected.
