Speakers crackling

Have you tried plugging them into something else, like an iPod for example, to prove that the crackling is the speakers and not the PC (or whatever)?

Nope. Too technical for me.

I've tried connecting the cable to the monitor to use its own speakers and they're still the same.

My Realtek hd driver is out of date. How do I update it?

Sounds like it didn't download properly.

What's your motherboard model? The latest Realtek audio drivers for the board are usually available on the ASUS website.

Like tom says download from ASUS. ah blast, tom beat me :(

This should be your mobo, - https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z87MPLUS/#support

CLick, drivers, select your version on windows. then down to audio, then download and install it.

Probably best to remove the old drivers first though. control panel, hardware and sound, device manager, then down to sound, right click on the realtek on, and unnistall it, then install the new ones fresh. :)

as you are using new drivers, i would expect it to be a setting issue somewhere.

have you accessed the realtek control panel?
