Spec for home office/gaming pc < £700

Seeking advice about the following spec for teenage son for homework and gaming, looking to get something for under £700 ideally.

Thought SSD would give much faster start-up performance, and have got old hard drives I can put in for extra storage.

But bit torn regarding the GPU between the 580, and the 3GB GTX 1060 - virtually same price but is there much difference in performance (he's currently using a 1366 x 768 TV as a monitor so don't need to be maxing out on the resolution)

RX 580 is far better overall and comes with free games. There's almost no reason to buy the 1060 3gb at these prices.

The spec seems fine, sensible given the uses, current component pricing and very limited budget.

When upgrading the monitor, and if also doing so on a budget, I'd recommend looking at the AOC G2460VQ6. Most basic 1080p 24" gaming monitors will be in this sort of price range (~£120) but the G2460VQ6 appears to have a ludicrously good freesync range.
