Hi Vimto,

I have just put a build together on the website which I will be ordering this weekend.

I'm looking at the same budget as you around £700. I don't know what extras you have on top such as monitors etc because mine is just the tower with no extras, but I managed to get an i5 2400 and a gtx460 in the build for the same costs so that might be something to look at.

I'm a little confused LFFPicard.

I had the GTX 460 in my build and changing it for the 550 ti lowers the price quite a bit, I had assumed it was a superior card.

I couldn't work out why your build there was more expensive but it looks like yours includes a better motherboard, does that make quite a significant difference? For example would it be better to go for a better motherboard or to upgrade to the 560 ti in your opinion?

Just to clarify that, basically stretching my budget to the limit I can go for EITHER the gtx 460 with the slightly better motherboard (the crossfire one) or I can go with the standard motherboard but a 560 ti. For gaming reasons which option do you think is better?

Crossfire is an ATI multi GPU feature so it wont be used with nvidia gpus anyway
If you want multi gpu motherboards look out for SLI

I went for that motherboard purely because it is the new revision. If i was to drop it back down to the micro atx board it would be cheaper but it would be the defective board.

So unless you want to wait until the end of the month for the replacement micro atx boards the board i selected is the cheapest in that range.
Also the 550Ti is a superior card and is a Crysis 2 Budget card release. So will be better for Shogun aswell.

Hope this helps.

LFFPicard, I was told that with my build the mobo issue isnt a problem because the drives will be plugged into the non defective parts. I certainly hope thats the case!
