if its games you want, you will want to downgrade the processor to the lowest quad core, it will never use 6, then use this extra money to get the best graphics card you can

also if you are using HDMI, you dont need speakers, they come with the Iiyama monitor, and on your budget i would consider one of the cheaper monitors


tbh, i know ur all excited but id try and save up to £1000, you will be able to get much better, trust me

First off; in answer to your question the AMD 6870 will perform well on the latest games, just not on ultra settings (med-high it will be fine).

Secondly: you wont need 6 cores for gaming, currently no game on the market uses more than 2 threads, however its estimated that in a year or two that will increase to 4 threads, so you will be fine getting a niffty 4 core processor.

Ok so ive taken a look at your spec and think it could use some slight adjustments, if you want a pair of external speakers i recomend you save up and get a decent pair from somewhere cheaper (no offense PCS) like play.com, also do you should be fine getting one of the un-named brand monitors.

-got a standard montior with added DVI cable (the monitor is still 1080p HD, the only difference is that its TFT and the Iyama is LED, as a result the Iyama has slightly better contrast, but you wont even notice this whilst gaming)

in summary its slightly over your budget, but well worth it, and will meet your gaming needs.
