It’s not really. It’s a luxury for games. For the OS it’s basically essential these days, but if you’re really tight on money and can’t afford a dedicated game SSD or don’t have space on the OS drive for games, then running them off a 7200rpm HDD won’t impact performance other than loading times. 5400rpm drives should be avoided for anything other than basic storage.
