SSD query

Just want to know that if I buy an SSD in the future will it be possible to just copy windows and some basic programs onto the SSD simply or will I need to buy a new windows copy etc?

You can move it over to a new drive, though may need external software to do it.

You can backup/restore from Win7 to a different drive though if the new drive is smaller then I don't believe it will work (and unless you don't have much on the drive you're moving from then the SSD will probably be smaller).

You cant just copy windows and programs to another drive,
you will need to make a system image(clone the system drive)
either to a third internal or an external hard drive first.
unfortunately the windows own "create a system image" wont work unless the drives are of equal size or the target drive is larger than the source drive.
You would need something like norton ghost to do that.
