SSD upgrade

Hi all,

Im upgrading My hdd to a ssd and recently discovered that the occasional knocking noise, that always came from my cosmos 2 laptop was because it never came with a mounting bracket.

Does anyone know where i can buy a 2.5" mounting bracket for the new ssd? as i do not think that the bracket is included. All i can find are conversions from 2.5 to 3.5 and im not sure the 3.5 bracket will fit in the laptop?

I no there are no moving parts in the ssd but i dont like the idea of it lose and held in by just the connection like the hdd.

I should ring PCS really as i'm sure my cosmos should have came with a bracket but if i can find one i'll just buy it.

Cheers.

There shouldn't be a mounting bracket, it should be screwed into the tray, then that slides into the socket and screws into place. If that isn't present, give pcs a call and they'll send you one.

Oh ok, no thats not present its only held in by the socket and so when you move the laptop around you can hear it knocking against the case and wobbling sometimes. Ive just paid out alot of money on a ssd so i want that screwed down, can you buy the trays or will the ssd come with one? I will ring pcs but if i can pick one up cheap online i dont mind.

Cheers for the reply.

It's specific to the chassis so pcs would be your best bet.
