Steam Fail :(

Hello fine forum folk.

After my PC basically fell over (figuratively not literally) and was crashing every time I opened Steam I was forced to uninstall steam. I'm not sure to blame Aliens Colonial Marines yet or not (it was the game that I installed last. This is (obviously) fairly irritating as it seems as though after reinstalling I cant just click one (or two) buttons to install my games again and I have to click each one in turn (which is fairly tedious to be honest). Maybe I'm just having a wee moan, I'm not really sure.

Basically, I was wondering if there was a way to get steam to systematically go through and install all of your games. Or is the only way just to do it manually (I think it is :()

Cheers :) I figured that was the case.

Going to get a few set up and essentially leave my PC on for the next month :(... My broadband company will hate me, but my energy provider will love me!

Surely you don't have to re-download them all? Wouldn't the file's for them still be on the PC, I know when I uninstalled steam and re-installed it onto my other hard drive I just had to move the old folder into the place of the other one. Thinking about it though I might of saved a copy of the folder first though before uninstalling :/

My fail reached levels so high unfortunately I had to format the hard drive the games were on originally :(. Cheers for the suggestion though!

Very tempted to get a raid set up now. Or some kind of backup (maybe a NAS drive in the garage haha)

The backup and restore options on Steam are pretty diabolical.
Just be glad you didn't have to sit through the glimmer of hope that spending hours backing up your games gives you.
Only to then have Steam install them from the internet anyway when you try to restore. : /
From your unsorted list of games.

I have to admit as much as its been a pain re-installing everything the games I have are all still sorted in the categories I created before this all started :)

I meant in the sense that the list of games that Steam provides to choose which to restore from, there is no noticeable sorting order. o_O
Not alphabetical, not size, or anything logical... when trying to find a specific game in a list of 50-100 from a small window you can't resize, it's a nightmare. D:
At which point it fails to install from the backup anyway and you feel rage. Such rage.
