I got my computer a week or so ago and everything has been perfect, but now I've been getting a sudden black screen for about 3 seconds, this happens every half hour or so. I've checked my graphics card and its up to date, any idea what this is? :/
Sounds obvious but have you checked the leads are plugged in securely (power lead for the monitor/lead from computer to monitor)? Can you correlate anything your doing at the time with when the screen goes black? Booting up a game for example...
I have a new pc from pcspecialist. Yes I too am getting a black screen on both screens at the same time with this error message: The NVIDIA OpenGL driver detected a problem with the display driver and is unable to continue. The application must close. Error code: 3
It then shows a link to NVidia support for help. I navigated to the Nvidia website, checked my driver and confirmed it was up to date. I checked it also with Windows - Update Driver - and Windows confirmed I had the latest driver.
It's done this intermittently about 6 times in a week.
All leads are plugged in. I'm using Intel i7-2600K, and 2 Samsung widescreens. Graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti.
My two questions are: (1) could there be a fundamental error with the hardware so much so that I need to send the pc back for repair, or (2) is it something that 'just happens' and we have to put up with it?
If anyone could advise me as I know very little about computer hardware, thanks.
