That's what I'd wondered, doesn't list it as a component that can be RMA'd, however they are available in the spares list at a cost of £55, maybe drop a line to PCS via the Tech support tab on main site

Is this the laptop you got fairly recently? I'd say the battery must be covered for it to fail in less than year, defs give PCS a ring and see what they say. You absolutely shouldn't have to pay for a component that failed if you weren't doing anything that could cause that to happen

Yeah it's only 8 months old, i got it start of October last year, I@ve messaged them via the tech support messenger on main site and sent them a link to the report on my dropbox

Just to temper expectations here PCS only cover batteries for 6 months under warranty.
Cheers for that, worth a try, but if i have to buy a new one so be it.

Just looked at T&C's

7.7Laptop Batteries come with a maximum 6 month warranty, regardless of which warranty option is purchased.

I suppose all things considered £55 quid for a new battery isn't bad. Especially if you compare it to the same repair costs from someone like apple.

No not bad at all, I got a reply from Jakub at PCS, explaining this, and have ordered a new battery with weekday morning delivery so hopefully tomorrow morning all being good, Mohammed my regular DPD driver is very good as well

Good news mate. Quick turn around that.

Not a dig at PCS, as I assume everyone will be the same, but how do laptop companies get away with guaranteeing/warrantying a battery for only 6 months?

Is this because a battery is seen as a 'consumable' rather than a 'component'?

I think so. The problem for PCS is that it's easy to mistreat a battery to the pojnt that it fails early. All you have to do is leave the laptop in full sunshine for a whole day for example....
