Ignore the TV and the Virgin Media box, those I already had!

Also loving the Geforce GTX light up on the GPU:

That's just great. You ordered last Friday, no fast track, and you already have it.

This is without doubt, proof for me that there is absolutely no queue or backlog whatsoever. I should know, I ordered mine 3 weeks ago and it's still in pre-production.

Yes, I called. Three times.

It might just be that there are components in your order they don't have in. Also I did amend my order after placing it to get fast track, then cancelled it and changed my PSU and GPU as the GTX 980 became available. Maybe they didn't see I'd cancelled it! :D

I hope you have plans to add a SSD at some point. it pains me to see a generic 2Tb drive in a machine like that.

But yeah it will smash everything you throw at it.

Enjoy.

Maybe but I don't like the idea of a Hard Drive that only has a very limited life span. I know a normal HDD has a limited life span but doesn't the SSD have a really short one?

I would have gone for a caviar black. SSDs have quite a long lifespan and the new ones seem to be as reliable as HDDs.

I think you'll also find SSD manufacturers often offer a warranty anywhere between 3 and 10 years as well (i think that's for one of the Sandisk drives).

I like to keep HDDs as far away from any of my pcs/laptops as possible, the closest they get is as external storage drives.

They will last for longer than the life of the PC on average, they are 'damaged' by writes and that is what dictates it lifespan. However even on entry level drives they are in the 10's of GB day for 10 years. With that being seen as very conservative. They are generally more reliable than HDD's too...

HDD's or SSD's can last for years,on the other hand they can also fail at anytime (hence why you should always backup) I had two Caviar Black HDD failures within 6 months of receiving my computer :(

They lied, SSD's are like this good. |_____________________________________________| vs a HDD which is just this good |____|

Haha okay fair enough. I'll order one from PCS and fit it myself, from the video's I've seen on YouTube it looks simple enough (I am learning a great deal more from YT than I did at college lol). Would the Kingston 120GB or 240GB be okay or would the Samsung one be a better choice?

If you go for the Kingston get the hyper x rather than the v300 as the v300 is really slow (much slower than advertised due to a NAND switch they kept a secret) I personally like the Samsung, but a flaw with the firmware (that is being fixed as we speak) has kind of put it down in my estimations.

All in all for a non techy id advise the hyper x at the moment.

And yes, YouTube rocks.

I must ask, when you have the TV set to 16:9 size mode does any of the picture get cut out?

Anyhoo, great PC! Enjoy the beast :)

No the screen is fine as is the picture and resolution. My last PC also had HDMI output and that was fine as well.
