Any feedback would be greatly appreciated and help with the following question;

I have ordered the system to use with Windows 10 but without it installed on the new machine as I have Windows 10 on my current machine (upgrade via Microsoft from Windows 7). My current Optimus machine was ordered in the same way (no o/s installed just had to enter the serial number etc for the software).

Is it the same process with Windows 10? Just enter the current serial number?

That looks perfect. The only thing missing for me would be a storage drive but I guess you may have that sorted already? Nothing really to add other than that.

However... what's this about a FSX replacement? Have you got any links or info on it? I'm a HUGE FSX fan, my install is currently 250GB with all the addons :D

Thank you for the feedback.

A storage drive? Do you mean for documents, photo's etc..?

More details on new products from Dovetail here - http://www.dovetailgames.com/news/2...-presents-the-flight-simulators-of-the-future

FSX add-ons do eat GB's for fun!

Another question on my spec concerns the RAM. Ideally I would like 32GB in there but it smashes the budget unless I reduce the size of the SSD which isn't ideal.

In general performance would opting for 16GB compromise the system?

Thanks for the link, I just spent the last 40 minutes looking into it. Very exciting, can't wait for 64bit and DX11 :D

Yeah a storage drive just for general documents, music, movies, etc... basically anything that would eat up space and doesn't need a fast drive to make use of.

16GB would make absolutely no difference to any game on the planet at the moment or in the foreseeable future. By the time it has an impact the laptop will likely be out of date, even if it's not the price of DDR4 will be down dramatically and upgrading won't be an issue.

I have an Octane III with all the bells and whistles and I'm more than happy with 16GB. I doubt very much I will need to upgrade before replacing but it's not an issue should the time come.

It is great news for flight sim!

How will the o/s side of things work with my spec? Is it a case of entering the serial number etc to activate Win10?
