This cant be Happening: Part two( RMA 2,3 and 4 )

PC came back from RMA 2.Checked box over before signing, all fine.Set the PC up,only to find monitor not receiving signal from gpu`s.Contacted PC Specialist for advice,I had to do various GPU swaps to eliminate which card was at fault(ended up that it was card 1 slot 1)So had to RMA again for another replacement card.

received card the very next day(very fast turnaround,i was very surprised)Exchanged cards with courier.inserted new card in,turned on and ...nothing,no power,no lights on the Motherboard.I took both cards out and put new card in first pci ex 16 slot.powered up ok but only 1 card i thought. So shut down the PC,inserted second card bridged them up and cabled OK.

Powered up and no power again. So booted back up with 1 card again and checked bios and windows settings,i must of spent 8 hours trying all that i knew from 10 years of PC experience.I even left the side case off while both cards were in and powered up,touched the second card only for the PC to boot up(scared the life outta me)then it turned off again a few seconds later.

I managed to get the PC booting up with both cards in only if i took the weight of the card off my sound card(shouldn't be touching that anyway, could be shorting i thought)but still wasn't showing the second card in device manager or in AMDs ccc as cross fired.i even uninstalled the drivers wile holding the card to keep her powered up.then restarted then installed the latest 11.5 drivers ans still no joy.

Tried every combination possible.Went on to some of the top forums to see if there was similar problems to no avail.I checked the second pci x16 and noticed that the slot was loose at one side(the side facing the hard disk side). This has to be why it was acting strange and starting up when i touched the card and not showing up in device manager.
I tried putting off ringing tech support, just so i could eliminate all the tasks they may of asked me to do.The call was inevitable. The guy apologized again and said it is a definite fault on the motherboard. He said it'll need RMAing again (no 4) for a new motherboard.

Now i have been very very patient, but this is not what customers should be experiencing. The PC has been RMAed more times than Ive used it.How can this be happening. You cant keep blaming the couriers all the time.I dont want to put off potential buyers, but its getting beyond a joke.

As for a Bespoke PC it certainly is, all for the wrong reasons. How do i know when it gets back to me that there may be something else wrong with it or a month or two down the road.I told them if any problems arise from this rma then its bye bye PCS.I'm very disappointed and starting to lose confidence in PCS.

I am querying the finance company of a failed to meet requirements and a cancellation of my finance even though I'm into payment two of the payments nearly on a PC i never used because of the failure of components every time its RMAed.I'm sorry the way this is turning out but it looks like a breakdown in communication on the build line or somewhere.

Batches of top end components failing strangely when customers receive them, yet they passed the test back at PC Specialist before shipping.Something is seriously wrong and it just cant be the couriers.

Hi there.

Yes you have been very unlucky. It is however all due to the transit. If one of the slots holding a heavy gpu is loose or twisted or cracked etc, then this is because the heavy gpu while inserted into the slot has moved and the gpu moves because it is subject to a shock. It it were as you said and batches of components were failing then we would be seeing lots of similar issues and we are not.

Two choices now. We can send you a new pc. You keep hold of that one, and we will pick that one up when we deliver the new one. If god forbid, you had issues with that one then we would call it a day and cancel your order, or we can simply cancel your order now. I would hope that you sellect the first choice, this is the best of both worlds. A new pc and the guarantee of a refund if all is not well.

Give us a call and let us know.

A simple but effective...

My two cents of help for PC Specialist that could help the cost impacting profits with RMA`s.

After a complete testing of a new pc has been completed and passed,Take the graphic cards off the motherboard and repackage them back up into original boxes they came in.Theres plenty of room in the top box with the drivers and cables with the packaging of the graphic card(s) boxes to accomodate this change.

Then Just a simple video of the reassemble process(YOU TUBE)for the unconfident or unsure,or step by step pics in the packaging.
This would take the stress off the Graphic card(s) and the motherboard, less weight the motherboard has the more agile(cant find the word right now) to compensate for bumpy transits.

WE all know that ten years ago GPU`s were like the size of a latest sound card.no weight no stress on the motherboard.Theses days the cards(GPUs) are as big as playstation 2s.
Regarding this though, some customers probably wont be able to reassemble the gpu(s) because of their PC knowledge(a lot are now turning away from the console world and stepping up a level. so no offence),But at least give that option in the final build at least for the customer to decide. It would give the customer a feeling of care for their Machine they went the high ends for.

This would at least take some strain of the RMA department(its a no brainer guys)Im just helping the boys back at the factory.I can imagine why things get left out or missed(read every post ) because of the stress of doing too many things at once and theres a limit to how much time to do a certain job on a certain machine(i know, i work in the same but different enviroment).

I can see where this is going though, ill get a reply saying "why not just assemble the whole PC, test it and pack everything back up into all individual boxes, let them figure it out" ..lol.
But i still stand firmly on the graphic card idea(Cards are way ,way too heavy now to transit them on the motherboard). Its a great option for the customer, confident or not to insert their card(s)and to have a peace of mind that alls well.
It would add credability to PC specialists objective at been the leader in the UK as custom (bespoke)PC`s manufacturer.A young ambitious company should strive and listen ,even if it takes a few customers to help them to be no1.

Cmon guys...Technical support on helping out the customer is excellent(i should know ..lol i dont wanna spoil it.lol)ive been every where else(PC wise) and not had this level of support before.
But to take it one level up of its competitors and beat them at there own game is a brave move,Its a simple but effective move that eliminates an RMA specially on Exotic GPU)s.
ITS A NO BRAINER.

Maybe forward this to the Director(still paul crookes?) or the appropriate department.

Tbh i can see where you are coming from so don't take offense but yours is the first RMA i have seen or heard about with that problem and imho i don't think that the majority of customers would be happy recieving a PC that they actually have to put there own GPU in upon getting their new toy to play with and for many people changing a GPU is a big thing even with videos and pictures to show how to do it.
