RMA 11473
order no 386988
Received pc back from RMA today 2:30pm.courier was getting on a bit so i asked him if i should take it out of the van. When i got to the back of the van the box was on its side so i said to him you do know its very fragile whats in the box he said itll be fine.I wasnt to happy so i took the digi sign thing, signed my name(i knw now ...didnt before about checking all around the box ..still ridiculous that we cant trust anyone) and carried it to my home.when i checked the box which wasnt my box in the first place because my original box was perfect. This box had the handle hole ripped up to the tape and a hole at the bottom of the box and the tape wasnt even secure enough to hold the flaps at the top of the box.Took the pc out and checked the innards of the pc only to realise the psu was set at an angle and the back of the psu looked like it had taken a knock. The back of the case is bent so the psu doesnt line up to make the unit square.I connecterd the pc up to my new monitor which i used with the pc before the RMA but receieved no signal to the monitor my keyboard didnt light up(its a G110 logitech)and there is no beep before start up.
I am not at all happy with the service im getting all ive had is problems with this £1800 pc ,it shouldnt be happening.if it aint sorted im involving Trading standards.I havent even started to pay the finance yet so im seriously considering cancelling.I just want a pc brand new ,all working no problems no faulty hardware or box damage, but ive had all of them in two weeks and a RMA.which came back worse than ever.
If this has to be RMAed again i certainly aint sending it back in the box you sent me back its been damaged and all the tape was loose.
I want this sorting(sorry for the way this comes across but im really angry right now.):mad::mad:

You are angry, i can understand that.

From the pics it looks like its had a hell of a kicking.

Our packaging and precautions we take with shipping the machines such as the foam inserts etc are tried and tested, unfortunately there is only so much damage it can take.

It really is a shame that you have been hit by this double whammy of dissapointment. I am confident that if you report this via an official support channel (phone is the best bet, fastest response) then it will be sorted out sharpish. Just request this machine is brought back and a rebuild done, fresh machine - fresh start.

I would hope you would involve trading standards if it isnt sorted out for you.

By the way i contacted pc specialist after half an hour wait, made me late for work so ended up taking a lieu day to try and sort this ridiculous mess out.I took the not so good pics with my sons ipod gizmo. Finally my partner got through to a tech advisor and was instructed to take pics of box and damage to case and psu not flush with the case.sent email but no response (maybe to late was nearly 5pm by time i could get my head around do the things that were needed to do(partly cos of the rage i was feeling and still am ).So i posted here aswell to let the admins know about it too just incase i dont get no response tomorrow..It started with the PSU been faulty and then RMAed back with problems worse than ever.

I can understand your frustration, but it just seems you have been very, very unlucky with the couriers. Please tell me you signed for the package as unchecked, as we advise in all correspondence. Given the issues you have had previously you should also insist on checking the contents while the driver is there and signing as damaged.
You then need to take photos and contact tech support on 0844 499 4000. The reason we ask that you sign for goods as unchecked, is because in the event of any damage, if you don’t sign as unchecked you are in effect signing to say you have received your package in good condition, and it makes it very difficult to claim for the damage from yodel (formerly DHL).

OK, so you added more info while i was posting my last post. Again i can understand your frustraion, but please do not use profanities or come on the forums just to express a bit of rage. By all means come and get some advice and we will try and help, but the tone whilst understandable is not acceptable in a public forum. I have edited the profanities from your post.
In any event , we will as we always do sort it out.

The box was on its side in the van so i didnt see the other side of the box.All the old man wanted to do was take off so i signed my name.I know my rights if your trying to imply i dont have any.Its simply a friendly gesture to the courier that i would take it out of the van.Im a strong lad, i lump heavy units(furniture around all night) so a big box (especially my box was taking extra care from the van to the room it was going in.
It wasnt even the box i first received. I should know cos i marked the inside with a message about the power cable to the guys who were to remedy the fault.

Seems like you've been very unlucky here but it really isn't PCS' fault here, the courier company are the ones at fault.
As for being a different box, slightly irrelevent really, PCS have obviously just packaged it up in a new box and new packaging. It clearly has had a hellish journey and the obvious disregard the driver showed when he arrived doesn't bode well either.
As for your rights, they're not saying you don't have any so don't get so defensive, it won't help matters. Obviously you're going to be angry and frustrated but talk to PCS in a civil manner and they really will bend over backwards to help you as much as possible as has been shown time and time again :)
You really shouldn't have signed for it without checking the box over, you said it was on its side in the van when you signed? Never sign for something before it's actually in your hands and you've at least looked at the packaging.

Anyways, I'm certain PCS will sort this out for you, its an absolute shame you've had such a run of bad luck with it and that's sure to leave a bitter taste but with a bit of luck it'll get sorted for you ASAP and you can get on with enjoying your new rig :)

EDIT: Profanaties aren't acceptable on pretty much any public forum so why should they be on here? That kind of attitude really won't help you at all. By your logic surely they can use profanity in newspapers etc? But they don't... I wonder why this is? Because people might get offended by it maybe? Children might read it?
Use a bit of common sense :)

Please read my last post ' in any event we will get it sorted for you'. What i am implying, given that this is a public forum and provides useful info to lots of people is that it is always a good idea to sign for any package as unchecked if indeed you haven’t checked it. There are plenty of distance sellers who would indeed not bat an eyelid if you report damage after signing for your package as 'received in good condition'.
With regard to the box, we don’t necessarily use the same box that a pc was sent back in. They are either given new ones, or boxes that are deemed fit for carriage that may have been used before. If the box you received was in such bad nick then it was almost certainly caused during its transit.
In any event we will get it sorted.

With regard to profanities, we have no control over who uses this forum. We have many young members, who have a watershed and parents to protect them from tv. On here we dont, so we have a zero tolerance.

Look guys..ok.... profanities zipped I know and should know better, my apologies.I wouldnt talk to any one like that on over the phone,it was just venting anger out over instant thought and relaying to here. Please accept my sincere apologies. The strange thing is aswell, was the tape was not stuck to the top like it had been tampered see pic were tape hasnt taken to the box.I know mesh are not as good as they use to be but i have delt with them 3 x and an rma and never had this sort of problem before.I regretted sending my pc out last Friday cos i knew it wouldnt get back to PC Specialist till monday .what im saying is that it was lying around over the weekend at their warehouse.Who knows whats going on.

Don’t worry, we all understand and do genuinely feel for you. It is heart-breaking when you have spent a lot of money and been waiting for your dream machine. But believe me when i say we will sort it.
Occasionally, the couriers do open the packages for one reason or another. Usually it is marked as resealed by dhl on the tracking page or on the box.

no sign of reseal on info on DHLs page and no sign of resealed on the box.

I can't say I was too impressed with Yodel's couriers last week when returning my computer (RMA 11462, still waiting on an update on tests after a week - blown Domino ALC). Two chaps arrived, one carried the box (my original desktop box from 2009) and I told him it was a computer and should be handled carefully. He said ok and put it in the van balanced on a box about 10" square. I told him surely he wasn't leaving it like that as it would fall about all over the place at which time his colleague asked what it was. I said I'd already explained it was a computer and he said ok and re-arranged it. Can't say I was impressed at all.

I hope the OP gets his problems sorted out, but it does sound like the couriers' fault rather than PC Specialist's who in my experience over the last couple of years or so have proved pretty reliable - hope I'm not tempting fate with my current RMA!

To be honest seffrid i was scared as hell to let the pc go back for RMA1(1 meaning 2 is inevitable).I thought to my self ill just take the Dodgy PSU out and replace it with a RMAed PSU ,no problem. But after a while i realised the cable managment was spot on.With the corsair 1000 pro psu i have, its only half modular(should have gone for the 1200 gold pro fully modular)so would of ment half the fed cables closed side of case were all fed nice and neat, meaning all undos and re dos with both sides off the case.I could of done that but,why should i?
Seriously thinking of upgrading the PSU to fully modular, then all you do is unplug all cables to psu and change psu and reverse of what was unplugged.I did think the corsair 1000 pro was fully modular but it doesnt say that on the order details that its half modular(should of done more homework).
I had no choice to send my not got to know baby back and recieved a nightmare back(maybe not pcs fault (but cable magnament wasnt as good as when first recieved).Shouldnt This company start to think at least about changing couriers (UPS ARE GOOD,Never had 1 problem)or is the cheap labour of couriers or bad day drivers taking effect in matters "lie and know nothing"(i think so).

Another thing why o why is there tape around the handle hole and all the way around that area?why would PCS put tape around a missing handle hole?WHY? do you think they have the same security tape or is that tape well known meaning it aint security tape.I smell a bad fish its either you PCS or DHL which one?i end up recieving crud worth nothing.

I believe PCS are already onto their third courier service.
And to be honest all the couriers are as bad as each other - you say you've never had any problems with UPS, but I'll bet you can find a lot of complaints by googling them, just as I've had no issues with DHL(now Yodel) but can find complaints online with little effort .

You must be absolutely gutted and like everyone else I can understand how frustrated you are.

When it comes to the delivery companies there are good drivers and bad drivers and it's clear this one didn't give a flying fudge.

No doubt PCS will get it sorted as quickly as possible for you though in the meantime try and stay positive, as difficult as that is to do.

I'm not affiliated with PC Spec in anyway, but you've been unlucky. You should NEVER sign for expensive goods without at least checking over the box it came in and still sign it as unchecked.
I wouldn't think PC Spec have used your PC for the lunch time football game, so I'd calm down and realise it's most likely the fault of the courier.
Follow the advice given here by PC Spec staff, you'll be a happier bunny much quicker, lower your BP and hopefully get this mess sorted out faster :)
