Thoughts on this spec please?

Briefly, My PCS Octaine has served me well for the past 9 years, but now it's time to get a gaming tower as opposed to a laptop, so this is the spec I'm considering.

I already have spare SSD's I can add into this, likewise I have spare HDD's I can also add in later once I replace my NAS and reformat the drives so I simply don't need this spec to come with additional drives.

I would like to think that opting for the gen 5 m.2 would future proof the build for some time.

Typically the usage will vary but the priority will be gaming. I already have a AOC 34" monitor but encounter some issues with some games trying to use it. (CS2 & Dayz work fine but Diablo 4 & Hunter call of the wild simply freeze up and crash if the AOC monitor is primary)

Currently most of my gaming are above, CS2, Diablo4, Hunter call of the wild, Dayz, so nothing too intensive but I might get something more modern in the future if this rig works as expected.

Any opinions & advice welcome, especially when it comes to essential options like CPU, GPU, RAM concerning compatibility and such technical things.
Thank you in advance.

Hello, what's the resolution/refresh rate of your AOC 34''? What's your maximum budget? Do you already have an OS license associated with your Microsoft account?

Is your spare SSD an NVME or a SATA? To clarify, mechanical HDDs are very slow and only suitable for storage today.

Hello, what's the resolution/refresh rate of your AOC 34''? What's your maximum budget? Do you already have an OS license associated with your Microsoft account?

The AOC is an AOC U34G2G4R3 running in windows 3440x1440 @ 120htz via DP from the octaines (PCS laptop) Nvidia 980M 8gb which is why I suspect it's giving me issues, due to age/compatibility.

I don't use a Microsoft account for anything but email, so to the best of my knowledge the windows versions I have via purchasing from PCS are locked to those laptops.

Is your spare SSD an NVME or a SATA? To clarify, mechanical HDDs are very slow and only suitable for storage today.

I have both.
I bought 4x crucial P3 plus 2TB NVME's to upgrade two PCS laptops, one purchased in 2015, the other 2019. Two NVME's weren't compatible for the 2015 Octaine so they are currently sat spare and will go into this build. I also have spare SATA drives which I can use for additional storage but I'm not overly fussed on that as I will be replacing my 2009 Synology NAS soon which will store everything I need.

I have looked into the motherboard and see it supports RAID 0, 1, 10, so Once the NVME's are in I may see if I can raid those but otherwise storage isn't an issue.

This is what I would recommend for your needs.

Regarding the OS license, you should be able to transfer it to the new PC.

I would not considering RAID with NVMEs; it’s absolutely meaningless on a modern system and will kill the drives quickly, nothing else.
