THX not working - i think!!!!

Does the THX software only work with external sound card?

When I double click on the THX icon in the system tray I get a black box with some options in it.

if I try to select an audio device it says "there is no supported audio device avalible"

windows media player 12 plays mp3 files so something is installed.

In realtek you have you have the Real tek speakers selected right? Not digital output. But then no sound would play. hmm Try reinstalling the drivers from the disk.

I don't see anything called Real Tek in control panel.

do i need to install this, i thought all the main drivers where already installed?

is it on the drive disc?

there is a program called smartsound which wants to instal but asks for a key and says i can get a key for free.

is this anything to do with it?

this is a new laptop, vortex 3, i got it last thursday.

Sound drivers on the top option on the disk under install Audio drivers. Youll need those. It'll make a world of difference.
