Titan Fenrir vs Liquid Cooler?

Which one?

Hello! :)

I tried searching the forums to find a healthy discussion on these two ways of cooling but I couldn't seem to find anything.

Just trying to weigh up the pros and cons of these two cooling methods.

If budget was not an issue between the two, which would you choose?

I know there is some talk of the Fenrir Fan being too large for side fans and that the technique of push/pull is quite popular with Liquid Cooling.

Since my room tends to get quite warm, I want to keep my PC as cold as possible.

Thank you!

Well if your talking about full custom W/C loops with money as no problem, then W/C will completely out perform the air.

Howver if you are talking about the coolit cpu watercoolers vs the fenrir, then tbh theres not a massive difference really

My fenrir keeps my overclocked i7 2600K just as cool as the coolit ALC and noise levels are about the same since the rad on the coolit still has two fans wen in push pull.

Im running mine air cooled overclocked, 2 GTX 580's pumping out lots of ehat in a HAF-X and dont have any temp problems what so ever.

I just go with the 'mixing water and electronics is a bad idea' theory :)

I realise that most water cooling systems wont have any issues at all, however, knowing me, and my luck with some things, I'm going nowhere near water cooling :)

I think Frenchy should donate his awsome PC to charity. You send it to my house and I'll pass it on ;)

I am beginning to lean more towards the Titan Fenrir, simply because my PC is certainly not as powerful.

I was planning to get the Fractal R3 for it's simplistic design but I'm guessing, for better cooling, I should opt for a CM?

I love my eco push/pull! its awesome with the two akasa vipers! Opted for it due to the fact I didn't wanna lose the side fan on my case. If anything goes wrong its under warranty, so I'm not worried about that at all. It is a bit noisy when the two vipers are at max, that's not often at all. But the stock fan that comes with the eco is really quiet.

Yeah i guess the smaller cases might be a problem

HAF-X with 2 GTX 580's and a fenrir with side fan and duct fit no problem at all though.

I would have gone for the titan if it fitted me case with the side fan. But really happy with my choice!

I think the coolit looks a lot better than the titan.
There is miles more room and a lot less clutter imo.

I think the titan looks imense, also you say clutter, id say it isnt clutter at all, clutter is cables / pipes etc. Mines really nicely cable managed, titan doesnt get in the way fo anything so no harm in it being there. I can still fit my 2 GTX 580's my side fan and cover on the haf-x, I can access all my hard drives etc. and airflow is still fantastic. Not really sure I see any problem or clutter tbh.

Your welcome to your opinion ,I just dont like big heat sinks which seem old fashioned to me and I much prefer the liquid coolers.

Thats fair enoughm, but you cant call it clutter, clutter is non esential stuff lyin around cluttering up the space, the heatsink doesnt get in the way so its not rally clutter, also big heatsinks look ace, much beetter than old fashioned heatsinks which look rubbish. :)

When my mother-in-law comes to stay, I usually make her stay in my garden shed. I was thinking of ordering a haf-x so she could stay in there instead...would it give her a bit more space do you think?

Oh, one other thing...if any of you guys have any old packs of Ryvita hanging around can you send them to me. The mother-in-law eats so many when she comes to stay that it costs me a fortune. She doesn't particularly like them, but it's the only thing I can fit under the shed door!

Lol she could easily fit in the HAF-X along with the rest of the family, it is after all a block of flats.
