Tomorrow?? I hope!

Hello all!

My pc has been dispatched today so fingers crossed I will get it tomorrow!! I bought this pc on a budget as I have just moved to London to work in the vfx industry. I needed to upgrade my 4 year old pc to start on my own Camera tracking (Matchmover) and Maya projects, outside of work!

I have a Caviar Black 750 hd here ready to install, so the 1T Green will be for storage. Next month I will purchase an Nvidia GTX 570/80 depending on payday, do pcspecialist sell these cards stand alone? I'm also at a stage where I may get a 3d monitor and glasses bundle. Not really needed but im curious as to what Skyrim and other rpg games will be like in 3d!

I would just like to thank you all on these forums, there is alot of useful info here for people to stalk like me :turned:

I had a budget of around 650 pounds to start with, knowing it will be upgraded in the months to come!

As soon as it arrives I will review it based on the programs ill be using on it, Matchmover and Maya, no heavy rendering needed, camera points, tracks, film back and Geometry etc mainly.

You should be able to buy the card stand alone, it's what i hope to do with a CPU and some RAM

Nice setup and a budget well used I'd say.

Would probably save myself a few quid and just get another 560 next month in SLi if I were you. Will perform well I'd have thought.

Yer could do with some more info on that, one of the reasons i went with the sli / crossfirex mobo!

Edited to say, I really need to find out if it will also benefit Maya and other graphics intensive programs, or would a single higher end GPU be more beneficial? Google here i come!

Interestingly I have never checked if it uses both cards while im rendering, im pretty sure it does though since the Quadro cards sli and max and maya are amazing with quadro cards. I will do a test render tongiht if I get a chance and let you knwo if it uses both 580's
