Too late?

I know I'm a bit late with this,but I want to buy my daughter a laptop for christmas,
as I reckon I nackered her old one completely trying to fix it , although it was probably beyond repair anyway.
She really needs it for her work & browsing the net, no gaming or anything like that.
Can anyone from PCS tell me if it might be possible to to still get it before christmas,
ordering by fast track or something like that,
If so can any of the build experts advise on what to order with a budget of say £400 to £600 ,
if it's too late I understand,my fault for being the biggest procrastinator in existance.

you could also not bother with a hard drive (would need to phone up, and the current one needs to work) and put that one in so when she turns it on she be all like 'Wow all my files, are you a magician'

What hdd is in her old laptop? Both specs above are good, mine is just a little more powerful than Wozza's. Mine will mean the laptop will last a little longer but either one should be fine! If the HDD is decent, use that for the new one.

yes doesnt allow for any RAM upgrades, mine does, mine also includes a 7,200RPM drive, meaning that if anything mine will last longer as facebook & twitter will never use 2.2ghz on a dual core now would they, and the one i chose also has hyperthreading which means it will last a lot longer

Steady on! The RAM choice is a minor thing that can be adjusted later, for the HDD, we are thinking of using the old HDD so your 7.2K drive isn't really going to help!

dont quite get how music guys spec doesn't allow for ram upgrade though wozza,
not that it will ever be necessary,nor will hyper-threading,
It's really only for kind of office work & browsing the net
I have already salvaged her old hard drive(bit of a magician that way)
but will be ordering laptop with a new one anyway.

The RAM in my laptop is easily upgradeable it is just that you have to remove a stick to put another in, there are only two slots. For the HDD, your choice, of course the black scorpio is faster but the blue scorpio is a pretty solid drive!
