Unreal Engine hates me!

Lord of Steam
Have been trying a few different games today and seem to be getting quite a few crashes in games running Unreal Engine (4 in particular) with an error "D3D device being lost". The error seems to happen with outdated drivers, which I don't have as I've used DDU to uninstall what came with the PC and downloaded the latest drivers directly from Nvidia. Have found a few games work if I change the Windows scaling from the 150% that Windows 10 recommends to 100%. Google suggests that the error also happens where older drivers work for the game, but newer ones don't which is causing the error. Ah well, managed to get a few Steam refunds for games that were causing the issues.

Not really expecting any ideas of fixes (but happy to read if anybody has some not already suggested by the internet already), mostly just lowkey venting. I still have plenty of games, it's just a shame that I've had a few issues - more time for Civ 6 I guess!

Under the Global Settings tab, choose High-performance NVIDIA processor in the drop-down list
Sometimes if you have auto select on you nvidia settings I can cause that issue

Bear in mind, you can find the settings revert back to default after updates. It doesn't happen all the while, but it's worth considering should this happen again in the future.
