So I presume an SSD is a given, what about graphic card/more RAM?

not on unlimited funds so any advice would be appreciated.

Is this a PCSpecialist build? Can you post your full specs from the order page?

What do you use it for?

What's your maximum budget for upgrades?

What monitor are you pairing it with, what resolution and refresh rate or make and model if you're unsure?

Oof, Haswell era, to upgrade your 100% looking at new main board, ram, and cpu. If that's the case might be worth looking AMD for replacements, as might let you keep the 550w psu as long as you don't go crazy and upto 3950x 😊

The GTX970 is looking a bit old in the tooth too, so I'd recommend working out total budget, then getting a cpu/ram/mb/gpu that will work nicely together in your budget. And remember to keep that case you need a micro atx board
