I have also purchased a WD My Passport 1TB external HD which is usb 3 and 2 compatible.
When I plug into either USB 3 slots the indicator light on the hd lights up but no usb connection/disconnection sounds are made and it cannot be viewed in my computer or device mananger. Plug it into usb 2 and everything is fine.
I can also see the hd in bios when connected to usb 3.0
Any idea's would be great.

Cheers

Neil
