Usb c

Just bought a new headset which is usb c connectivity, also has normal usb but i thought id use usb c as its obviously better.

When plugging it in i had no response on my pc. After taking the back of my desktop case off i noticed the usb cable wasn’t connected to my motherboard. When i bought it from pc specialist i thought they would have done that for me?

I only assume its an extra ad on i should have chose or my motherboard isn’t compatible. I have an ASUS prime b550 plus.

I’ve looked online and it says it’s completely compatible for usb-c. So do i need to buy the header for the motherboard? If so can someone put a link in here which one to buy please?

My money is on the motherboard not supporting USB c, even if your case has a USB C port. You usually get a warning on this when selecting your components on the configurator.

Are you trying to plug the USB into the case or the motherboard? I take it the case?

There is no front USB C support on that motherboard, it only has a USB 3.2 Gen 1 (which is USB A), so although the case has a connector, the motherboard doesn't support it.
