If one of the Q-LEDs remain lit it indicates a potential area to start troubleshooting. If you're not experiencing any issues with the PC it could be a false positive (for want of a better phrase) I guess?

The VGA LED would indicate a potential problem with the graphics card or similar, but it could also indicate an issue with the 'onboard' graphics via the processor (depending on your processor you may or may not have onboard graphics).

If I'm being honest, if you're not having any issues I wouldn't go rooting about if it were me.

Okay thank you for the advice! it is 5800X so it doesn’t have any onboard graphics.

There is a known issue with some cards and some monitors where you get the 3 short and 1 long POST beeps if the monitor is off when the PC is booted, turning the monitor on first solves this silly (but unimportant) issue. I would expect the VGA LED to light if the one long + 3 short POST bepeps occur, so experiment with booting with the monitor on first and off first and see whether that's it?

Yes it does sometimes do 3 short and 1 long beeps. But when trying with monitor off and monitor on it only does 1 short beep

The VGA light turned off at the reset it’s done this a few times now, but even with the monitor on the VGA light was on

OK, well its not what I was thinking then. If it goes off sometimes then I would reseat the graphics card.

Doing some extra test, It does seem that it might have something to do with the monitor since it usual happens after turning on the PC then the monitor after a shutdown for awhile, so before the monitor is fully on. I have tried plugging and unplugging the hdmi cable, but have not reseated the graphics card.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ,

thanks Fizzo 😿

Yes that is a good point was just interested why this light comes up and doesn’t cause any noticeable issues?

It’s a well known, minor, yet very irritating issue with Asus boards, our very own @SpyderTracks has the technical explanation (if you wish to know that kind of thing) in the thread linked below…
