I am looking to get a new laptop shortly as my current laptop (the Optimus II 15") is getting pretty old and is also rather beaten up.

The track pad has worn down alot and the plastic around the fan vet has cracked with some of it broken away.

SO for my next laptop I am looking to get something a little stronger and hard wearing. Oh and I will be running Linux.

I REALLY like the look of the Optimus V 13" but am very worried that it will not with stand the battering it will get form living with me (I travel alot and so does my laptop)/

Anyone that has the laptop how does it feel? Is it the same platicness like older Optimus laptops or something a little more hard wearing?

It would be a real shame to not be able to get the laptop but my other option is most likely the Dell XPS 13 dev edition http://www.dell.com/uk/business/p/xps-13-linux/pd as its

that's the exact same criteria as I'm using. I'm a linux user (currently using dell xps linux edition) and also require to be highly portable for travelling - I was looking at the inferno, but now think I'm going to get the Optimus V.

The Dell XPS sputnik would have been a no-brainer BUT, it has no eth port and no vga/hgmi which means using it with a projector would be a pain. hence why I'm looking to PCS to supply the latest work laptop...
