I've got a Vortex II with a GTX 470m at the moment, I'm just wandering if PCS or anyone else knows if a GTX 675m will work in it? I was going to buy one but would rather know if it will work before I splash the cash!
There was a post a little while ago but cant seem to find it at the moment but it said that PSC had put a GTX6 series into the machine but there were no drivers to support it however you may be able to upgrade to the GTX5 series.
There was a post link below posted by Big_Rich saying that Sager US has managed to get a HD7970m to work with the Vortex 2
Im currently waiting for news of upgrade options but it just seems to be a waiting game at the moment whether PCS will give us an upgrade option or if we will have to go somewhere else for the kits.
I've just read here http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?16378-news-on-vortex-II-and-7970m that PCS will be offering the upgrade for the 7970M for the 15" Vortex for £240 which is very reasonable. Hopefully they can get it working in the 17.3". I'll wait to see if they can get it working in the P170HM first before I get a 580M.
Hopefully they get it working but I might need to change my screen as I have a LG screen which needs to be flashed to work so I might have to replace it with a compatible screen according the the above link to notebook review forum.
