Vortex II sound issues

Ive done a few forum searches and found a few people with the same type of problem as me, but their solutions havn't helped me :(

I ordered a Vortex II 17" with Intel 5.1 Channel High Definition Audio + SPDIF/MIC/Headphone Jack.

When I recieved my computer the only speakers which I could configure and test in windows audio options were the top left and right ones. When I try to test the digital audio high definition audio device I can't hear any sound or bass.
In game the sound was only coming from the bottom left speaker, and was very quiet.

After reading of other users problems I installed the THX Trustudio program. After successfully activating it online, and restarting, all the speakers seem to be working in game. But when I try to open the program it says that the audiocard is disabled/not supported or not connected.

Also the headphone jack isn't working. When I put some headphones in, the sound continues to come out of the speakers.

Another couple of minor annoyances ive found with this laptop are, that the power lead likes to fall out every now and then when the laptop is sitting on my legs. Finally the CD/DVD button is exactly where I put my hands to move my laptop, so im constantly opening the drive when I dont want to!
Other than that I am very happy with the computer, it is extremely fast and handles all the games ive tried on it perfectly.

I also find that I occasionally accidently open the DVD drive, but I guess its just something that we will learn to avoid. However it is very strange that you mention that your power lead falls out a lot, as my power lead is very tightly connected indeed, infact I really do have to give it a good pull to get it out of the connector.

The power lead is pretty solid in the connector, but after a while of moving it round on my lap it slowly works its way lose.

Do you mean the connection at the PSU or the connection on the back of the laptop? If you are talking about the connection at the PSU then yes I have experienced this once or twice in the last month.
