Vortex III Battery Warranty

I bought a laptop from PCSpecialist last November. My computer is now telling me that my laptop battery needs to be replaced. I am not really happy with this occurring so soon after a purchase, of course I realise that batteries degrade over time but one year in my opinion is far too soon for this to happen. Does anyone know if batteries are covered under warranty or is it just internal components and will I have to buy a new battery myself?

It should, with standard or silver warranty parts are covered by 1 year. Try contacting PCS for an official response.

I'm not so sure if Battery's are covered under the standard warranties. I'd contact PCS for a definite response.

This is actually very generous. A lot of off the shelf laptops don't come with any battery warranty. HP for example, who's batteries can die in 6 months of heavy use if you are unlucky.

In all fairness you also don't pay 2.5k for an off the shelf laptop. My battery is pretty useless at this stage it now shuts off randomly after only owning it for 10 months meaning that the function I bought it for is no longer possible unless I purchase another....

It is pretty clear in the T's and C's that the laptop batteries are only covered for 6 month. You do often find 'off the shelf' laptops costing cash of that magnitude too so I wouldn't be overly surprised really.

However, I understand your frustration, especially if you're using the laptop properly (portable machine running on batteries most of the time etc.). Only thing I can suggest is that the new battery shouldn't cost too much if you do need to purchase one (which it sounds like you do).
