Hi guys,

I apologise for the impatience of this message, but i'm looking forward to placing an order on a new Vortex III with a 680M.

Is there any chance of this option appearing sooner rather than later?

Thanks :D

In general it's around 5-10% faster, runs cooler, and seems to have a massive headroom for overclocking. It's also more hassle free because Nvidia's Optimus is much more mature technology compared to AMD's enduro. For most users, the performance difference shouldn't justify the price difference however. GTX 680M is something like 250-300 on top of 7970M.

Also: GTX 680M has been confirmed working hassle free in Vortex II - i.e. Clevo p150hm and p170hm.

Ah interesting as i was just looking to buy the 7970m. .M3zxu what would be your opinion on choosing? If theres not much quality difference then the cheaper option is obviously better

Well, if you don't mind the money GTX680M is the obvious choice. Otherwise you get pretty much the same performance from the AMD card for a lot less money. However, the enduro part is still young, so you'll need to have some patience to wait for the drivers to mature a bit.

Thanks for the info..

I was getting excited for the GTX680M card but the price keeps me happy to select the 7970M with a cooling stand with my Vortex 3

Interesting that Clevo have got a 680M working in a Vortex II chassis. I wonder if this will become available as an "upgrade" by PCS when the service becomes available? Or should I start putting a few quid aside for a brand new Vortex III?

Any thoughts PCS?

At present we are only planning to offer a 7970M option for the Vortex II.

I love the GTX 680M in my P170HM, idles at 38C and maxes out at 73C during gaming. I was playing Black Ops and the temps were only 55C and this varies between different games.
