Hi all,
So first off, I'll say what I've currently got;
Processor (CPU) Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Mobile Processor i7-4910MQ (2.90GHz) 8MB
Memory (RAM) 16GB KINGSTON HYPER-X IMPACT 1600MHz SODIMM DDR3 (2 x 8GB)
Graphics Card 2 x NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 970M - 6.0GB DDR5 Video RAM - DirectX® 11
Memory - Hard Disk 250GB Samsung 840 EVO SSD, SATA 6Gb/s (upto 540MB/sR | 520MB/sW)
So firstly, the laptop has been great for the 5 months I have had it meeting every need I've thrown at it.... until recently. Starting back about 3 weeks ago I first had an error whilst playing a game which was the typical driver stopped responding and we've recovered issue... which was fine, nothing happened for a few days after that so I didn't think no more of it. A week or so later It was happening again, this time SLI was being forced off as I couldn't play any games for a long period of time without it just... dying.
Now more recently the drivers have failed and it couldn't recover forcing a crash, I've tried this with SLI disabled and enabled. Yesterday whilst gaming, I started to see artifacts on the screen (red lines going across) which came and went, for a few hours. The same thing has happened today but as happened pretty much straight after power up.
Now, I've tried different drivers (clean installs) and I've monitored temps (which are absolutely fine) I have yet to try a fresh copy of Windows and remain unconvinced this would solve a potential problem. This has happened on the internal monitor, my external monitor and a 2nd one I've used to test to ensure it isn't any of the Display screens I have.
Now my question is, does anyone know of any good stress test software? as anyone seen anything similar with a set up like mine? does anyone know anything else besides the GPUs which could cause this?
I would like to keep RMA as a last resort. As you can imagine I am quite shaken by this as it's an expensive laptop! for which I don't want breaking after a year.
Cheers
