Want to buy the Optimus 13.3

I have been watching the 13.3" laptop for months now. I wanted to buy it at first but then couldn't for a bit and now won't.

I mean, here you have a planet onto which technology changes so fast you need to upgrade everything every single year almost, yet here you have this laptop which for the past six months hasn't change in configuration or price.

Are you trying to tell me that the price for this laptop and its components remained exactly the same for six months?

Don't you think it's time you changed it's configuration to something better at the same price, or reduce the price of the components to better match than the real price those components?

Even the god damned thermal paste is now cheaper but you price it the same.

All of Intel's CPUs have seen a month-by-month price decrease. They are now 15% cheaper than what they were 3 to 6 months ago, yet you price them the same.

Price your 13.3" at 500 pounds starting price, or do something better about it, because you are definitely not adjusting the prices quick enough. It's not 100% about the money, it's about the message you are putting out also.

I mean, if you're trying to rip-off people this way, who knows what other shortcuts you're taking.

Just a couple of facts, take them as you will.

1. The chassis has stayed the same for the past 6 months because that's how it works. Clevo don't release a new chassis ever month, mainly because the components are stable for a long time.

2. The price for various configurations will have dropped. the starting price may not have changed significantly, but the price is constantly adjusted to reflect the market price of components. A 15% drop in the price of a CPU does now = a 15% drop in the price of the whole machine. Some components may have risen in price to offset the fall on the CPU.

3. The main reason components have been the same for the last 6 months is due to nothing new (of any note for a laptop chassis anyway) being launched. Even if something were launched it needs to be compatible with the chassis to be included. You are free to upgrade the components in the laptop using the configurator to whatever you want, its a custom built machine

I will take the rest of the points in the round. PCS is a business, it must make a profit, so you need to take that into consideration for things like thermal paste costing £9 when you could buy a whole tube for a fiver and use that tube on 4-5-6+ chips. Accusing PCS of cutting corners because you think they should be cutting prices is not correct.

I found the price PCS is offering was very competitive compare to the alternatives when I purchased my laptop and I think that's the case by comparing the gaming range with an asus or Alienware equivalent.
