Hi all I have placed my order already,this is what I have gone for. Problem is I have read loads of reviews on the vortex 11 now I wish I had looked into it a bit more, as you can see the price is £987, I can afford to add another £400 can anyone come up with a vortex config tha will give a better gaming experience I am willing to forgo the blue ray player for the 3D vortex Please help........ I'm totally new at this, and I think I have got time to change my order......gaming is my main concern for this laptop

TBH, any config you come up with involving the Vortex will be much better at gaming, this is becuase all GPU's available on the Vortex (560M, 6990M, 580M) are all much more powerfull than the GT555M. I would consider the following config:

I would highly recommend this build, which includes a Blu-Ray drive and an AMD 6990M, which will provide up to triple the performance of the Geforce 555M GT.

I don't know how necessary 3D vision is for you, but the best GPU that you could afford with your £1400 budget would be the 560M GTX. Although this is a decent card, it will give you roughly half of the performance of a Radeon 6990M. My personal opinion would be to ignore 3D and go for a 2D system with the 6990M.

But if you insist on 3D, your best bet would be as follows:
