Webcam Windows 7 conflict??

After some initial problems with a faulty on arrival Nvidia 460 graphics card that was exchanged and an unattached USB cable (still unattached but I would have to return the entire PC and have the MOB swapped to cure that problem), my recent PCS desktop is working well.

I have a Logitech pro 9000 webcam that ran quite happily on my XP desktop but doesn't work entirely on my PCS windows 7 64 bit desktop. I say entirely as I can see myself in the capture element of the Logitech software and in Sky but cannot access the webcam controls that come with the Logitech Webcam software. As I say I can capture using the Logitech software but cannot get to the controls to zoom, change brightness etc. I have updated all drivers done several re installs, regular and clean but the Logitech software claims not to be able to detect my webcam even though it is usable but not controllable with the Logitech software. Logitech themselves sent me a replacement webcam, this time a C910 but it to exhibits precisely the same problem. They now say it is obviously something about my PC that causes the webcam not to be detected and is causing the blockage of the webcam controller element of their software.
I am posting here in the hope that someone may have had a similar issue with a Logitech webcam and can help. Or someone may have an idea what the problem could be.
Regards
Paul

Just in case it helps anybody else I solved my problem. I swapped my Dell wireless keyboard and mouse for my wife's wireless (her suggestion!!!!) Microsoft keyboard and mouse and to my surprise my Logitech webcam was immediately recognised by the Logitech webcam software and is fully functioning.I have no idea if there is actually a logical explanation but it worked.

believe it or not i remember someone posting about a problem where the keyboard caused a problem elsewhere (or another part caused a problem elsewhere)
