WEI score

Hi I've just got hold of my brand new Optimus 15.6.

Everything is running fine and I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Apologies if this has been posted before - I did a search and couldn't find anything specific about this particular issue.

I am confused at my Windows Experience Index scores:

Processor: 7.6

Memory: 5.9

Aero: 5.1

Gaming: 7.1

Hard disk: 7.9

So my question is how do I get the tool to use the 660m graphics instead of the HD4000?

I've got all the latest drivers installed (both Intel and NVIDIA)

I've seen others on here with similar spec'ed machines with aero scores into the 7's

BTW I've set my comp to use high performance NVIDIA processor in the NVIDIA control panel (global), I've also set my power plan to high performance and re-ran the assessment but nothing changed.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

I've ran NVIDIA inspector which reports 1 app is using the card when running the assessment but surely a 660m would get more than 5.1?

I've benchmarked using 3DMark03 which returned a score of 35000 odd so I guess the 660m works just not for the WEI?

Running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1

WEI score are nothing to go by really, they dont really tell you much, your Gaming at 7.1 is more likely to be your Nvida GPU. Aero will be running at 5.1 becuase it will be running of the HD4000 this means your not using unnecessary power to run windows.

So there's no way of forcing the machine to use the 660m instead of the HD4000 for the test?

I know the WEI scores don't really convey much in terms of benchmarks but it does give users a rough idea of how their hardware is likely to perform.

I'd just like to know if I've got my machine set up for max performance - if this was indeed the case would it not be using the 660m as default?

Guess I'll have to up the RAM to 8GB if I want more than 5.9 for memory, is where duel channel comes in?
