Bright Spark
Around this time i like to collect some good albums and make up a bunch of CDs for summer driving. Currently have two records on repeat, "II" by Unknown Mortal Orchestra & "Earthlings?" by Earthlings. The former is a Lennon/Mcartney drenched folk/psych/funk/soul outing, with really really amazing melodies and a funky groove once the album settles into its natural rhythm, released earlier this year.
The second record is from the late nineties, and features members of several US desert rock bands, such as Queens of the Stone Age, Kyuss & the Desert Sessions project. If you like QOTSA/Sonic Youth/The Meat Puppets/ Stone Temple Pilots or even something a bit different from conventional rock music then this album is great.
Here's a selection of tunes, i hope to see a couple of responses over the next few weeks with what everybody else is listening to.
